Eddie Wilburn Kidd, 89, peacefully passed away Monday, December 3, 2018 in Weatherford. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Friday in White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford 76086. Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford. Visitation: 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday at White’s Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the American Diabetes Association. Eddie was born on December 12, 1928 in the Dido Community in northern Tarrant County to Clyde Truman Kidd and Edith Duke Kidd. He had one sister, Melba Jean. Eddie was raised in the “Southside” area of Fort Worth. He joined the U. S. Navy at the age of 17 to defend his country in World War II. Eddie re-enlisted and served honorably in Korea, Japan, China and the Philippines. In 1952, Eddie married Toinette (Toni) Futrell. He moved his family to Weatherford in 1970 and opened Eddie Kidd Ford, a local dealership that was active for many years. He is preceded in death by both parents; his sister; and his wife. Eddie is survived by his son, Kelly and wife, Carla, of Arlington; daughter, Phyllis Meyer and husband, Nick, of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Luke and Michael Kidd, Stacy Meyer Thrower, and Jessica Meyer; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Joseph, Thomas and Mallory Thrower, and Aurora Badeaux; and special friend, Georgia Sisson.
