Ennis Durwood "Woody" Eakin

Ennis Durwood Eakin, 81, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 in Fort Worth, Texas. 

Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Greenwood Memorial Park, Wilson, Texas.

To all of his friends and family, he was known as Woody. The youngest of four children, he was born on September 17, 1942 in Fort Worth, Texas to George and Aline Eakin. 

 Woody served in the Marines and later retired from both General Dynamics and the Tarrant County Sheriff's Department. 

 He is survived by daughters, Kathy and husband, Tim Carpenter of Azle, Suzanne and husband, Tony Fleming of Fort Worth; grandson, Aaron and wife, Allie Carpenter, granddaughters, Katelyn and husband, Sean O’Dell, and Elizabeth Fleming; and great-grandchildren, Azalea and Anakin Carpenter and Lane O'Dell.

 He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Aline Eakin; brothers, George, Jim, and Ed Eakin.
