Evelyn Joann Traweek

Evelyn Joann (Argo) Traweek, 85, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024. Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2024 at Memory Gardens of the Valley, 5600 Mineral Wells Highway, Weatherford. Joann was born on December 17, 1938 in Fort Worth, daughter of Herman and Goldie (Strickland) Argo. She met the love of her life Jerrell Wayne “J. W.” Traweek, Sr. and they were married on February 20, 1976. They would go on to spend 34 happy years together until his passing in 2010. Joann worked for many years in the aerospace industry for General Dynamics and Lockheed Martin. Joann loved to travel. It has been said that she “lived for Colorado” and would spend the summer in the mountains there. She also enjoyed shopping. Of all the interests that she had in life, her first love was her family, and her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband J. W. Traweek, Sr.; father, Herman Argo; and mother, Goldie (Strickland) Argo. Survivors include her children, Kent Fisher (Susan), James Traweek, and Dana Brackeen; grandchildren, Daniel Fisher, Vanessa Fisher, Jason Traweek, Justin Traweek, Jenny Brackeen, and Travis Brackeen; great-grandchildren, Darbie, Tison, Alaina, Zain, Wimberli, and Jenson; and sister, Wanell Fox.
