Flint Raymond George, born in Kent County, Texas, a longtime Flower Mound, Texas resident, passed away peacefully at 2:15pm June 26, 2024, surrounded by his family, after an accidental fall from his walker.
Flint was a loving family man, married to his high school sweetheart, Mary Elizabeth ‘Hoffman’ George, for 72 years. He loved to share the story of how they first met on the school bus and he told his mother he’d “found the girl he was going to marry.” He was the kind of man with a steadfast love for those around him, being a supportive father to his sons Kevin and Rick and daughter Teresa, and also helping to raise his grandson Travis and granddaughter Chelsea.
Flint would joke that with his “Kent County education” he became a Design Engineer and successful inventor of over 65 U.S. patents in the oil field industry. He was proud of his accomplishments in the oil field including the invention of a tool to stop an oil well fire that had been burning over 6 months, earning a spot in the Oil & Gas Journal. He was also named the “North Texas Inventor of the Year” in 2004.
Flint was preceded in death by his parents, Jett and Ova ‘Shreve’ George, and his sisters and brother Belva, Ella Juneve, and Forrest.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 10 am with visitation at 9 am at White’s Funeral Home in Weatherford, TX. The burial will be at Memory Gardens of the Valley by White’s Funeral Home.
