Frank Rankin Blackwell, 88, of Azle, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 18, 2020. Place of internment was Azleland Memorial Park, Reno, Texas. Frank was born July 29, 1931, in Cement, Oklahoma to Frank and Lucille Blackwell. He graduated from Midland High in 1949. Frank received his BA in music from UCLA in 1955, and his Master of Music from SMU in 1977. He served as minister of music in several Baptist churches in Texas and Florida with First Baptist Church Corsicana, Texas being his longest tenure from 1970 to 1984. After retiring, he was a member of the Fort Worth board of realtors and was a multi-million dollar seller. Frank was preceded in death by his parents. Frank is survived by his wife, Irene; children, John Eric, and Lisa Cheatham; sister, Jean Henderson; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
