Garland Roy Poynor, 70, passed away on October 20th, 2021 in Weatherford, Texas. Garland was born on October 13, 1951 to Glenn and Fern Poynor in Ranger, Texas. They had preceded him in death. He had two brothers, Dr. Wesley Jim Poynor and Richard Poynor. Richard Poynor preceded him in death. Garland graduated from Jacksboro High School and that is where he met Jayla Ann Swafford. The two married and had his one and only child, Ariane Reagor. He went on to college at the University of North Texas and graduated. Later in his life he graduated from Arizona State University. Garland loved the mountains and the dry climate. He lived in Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado. He also loved hunting, which he did often in these three states. Garland also worked for the State of Arizona at the IRS. Eventually he decided to move back to Texas and settle in Morgan Mill. He absolutely loved to watch and play football. He had a great love for all kinds of history, especially wars and battles. Garland loved disco music and loved to go dancing. Movies were always a big part of his life and he loved to watch a new movie every night while he ate his supper (as he called it). Garland leaves behind his daughter, Ariane Reagor and her husband, Shannan Reagor, and their three sons, Noah, Nick, and Darin; his brother, Dr. Wesley Jim Poynor and his wife, Kay. Patrick Poynor and his wife, Kirsten, and their sons, Oliver and Thomas. Sister-in-law, Cathy Poynor; Josh and Adrienne Kirkham and their three children, Aniston, Weston, and Briston. Douglas Poynor, Nicholas and Leanne Poynor and many more wonderful family members. Until we meet again! Ashes will be spread on his property. Date and time to be determined.
