On Thursday, March 7, 2019, Gary Bynum, loving husband and father of six children, entered into eternal rest at the age of 67. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2019 at The Fellowship at Weatherford, 2721 S. Main Street, Weatherford, 76087. Interment: 1:15 p.m. at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas, 75211. Visitation: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford, 76086. Gary was born on April 16, 1951, in Waco, Texas to Warren Bynum and Mary Doris Godbey. He joined the United States Marine Corps and was a Vietnam Veteran. On September 18, 1983 he married the love of his life, Joan. Together they raised three daughters, Chantel, Jennifer, and Sarah, and two sons, Michael and Matthew. Gary had a passion for the lost. He loved to preach and minister to those in need. Gary was involved in several ministries. His ministry and enthusiasm for the Lord, along with his personal testimony, impacted everyone around him. Gary was admired by many for his love and zeal for God. He was not ashamed of the Gospel. Gary’s other passions included golf and fishing. However, he will be remembered most for his jokes, pranks, and great sense of humor. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Warren Bynum; mother, Mary Doris Godbey; step-dad, George Godbey; brother, Phillip Godbey; step-son, Raymond Needham; and granddaughter, Zoey Tingley. He is survived by his wife, Joan; his five children, Chantel and fiance’ Shane, Michael and wife, Sarah, Jennifer and husband, Steven, Matthew, Sarah and husband, James; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
