George Allen White

Dr. George Allen White, 91, met his Lord and Savior face to face in the early hours of Monday, September 11, 2023. Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 15, 2023 at Springtown Baptist Temple, 201 West J.E. Woody Road Springtown, TX 76082 Interment: Friday, September 15, 2023 in Springtown Cemetery. George was born August 29, 1932 in Electra, the son of Luther Allen and Addie Mae (Kelley) White. He met the love of his life Marilyn Dean and they were married on May 25, 1957. They would go on to spend 66 happy years together raising their family. George would attend Arlington Baptist college, where he received his undergraduate degree. He would then go on to receive a Master’s degree and two Doctorate degrees. He, alongside his wife Marilyn, was the founding Pastor of Springtown Baptist Temple, serving for26 years. His son Luther would serve along-side of him as Associate Pastor until Dr. White’s health would no longer allow, at which time, Luther would step in to keep the legacy alive and take over as Senior Pastor. George is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife, Marilyn; children, Luther White (Marsha), Delbert White (Cheri), Luann Cantrell (Joey), Keith White, Jerushah Arnold (Ronnie); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and church family. Dr .White lived a life of strong faith, discipleship, and love; over the years he touched countless lives, and he will be missed by all who knew him.
