Gladys Bernadene Tiner, age 83, passed away on Sunday, October 23rd, 2022, surrounded by her family. Graveside Service: 1 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2022 at Lubbock City Cemetery, Lubbock, Texas. Gladys was born March 27, 1939 to Willie Paul and Wilma (Shackleford) Pierce in Hale Center, Texas. She grew up and was raised in several towns in West Texas, including Cotton Center where she worked on the family farm. After graduating from Cotton Center High School, she married Samuel Tiner. After finishing up cosmetology school, Gladys had various jobs including working for a real estate company and owning her own home inspection business. She was an active member of Breckenridge Church of Christ for many years, where her husband Sam was an Elder. Gladys continued to move around a lot, until she settled down in Coppell, where she and Sam raised their family. Some of Gladys’ favorite activities included painting, doing puzzles, and reading with her Schnauzer Regi sitting on her lap. Over the years, Gladys touched many lives, and she will be missed by all who knew her. Gladys is preceded in death by her parents as well as her step father, Oscar Buck Gross; husband, Samuel Tiner; infant daughter, Daniele Tiner; brother, Tommy Gross; sister, Darlene Cassetty; and granddaughter, Samantha White. She is survived by her sons, Jamie Tiner and wife, Cindy, of Woodstock, Ill., John Jennings and wife, Julie, of Mineral Wells; grandson, Brian Erb of Lewisville; brothers, Darrel Pierce and wife, Jean, and Keith Gross and wife, Regi; grandson-in-law, Ben White; great-grandchildren, Jack White, and Sunshine White; as well as many extended family members and friends.
