Gregory Michael Karbo was a legend. Greg was born on December 13, 1951 to Michael and Louise Karbo in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Bloomington, MN and went on to college at Gonzaga University to play basketball. He came back to Minnesota to complete his undergraduate and law degree at the University of Saint Thomas, only to decide that he was not meant to be stuck behind a desk. Greg moved to Texas and with his 2 brothers they created Karbo Bros Pools Inc., where he was recognized for his quality, professionalism and relationships in the pool industry for 43 years. Greg married Barbara Teubert on August 11, 1981 in which they shared an unapparelled love together for 41 years. Together they raised three children, embraced their spouse, and was the Papa to seven grandchildren. Greg had “meat hooks” for hands and told stories just as big. He was a natural born story teller, leaving his audience in awe or stiches! He was an amazing coach and mentor in life, and with youth sports, attending every event possible from his kids to grandkids. His greatest peace in this life was the cabin that he and Barb created in Northern Minnesota, blessing all of the family with memories of fishing, hunting and love. Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Louise Karbo. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of 41 blissful years; children, Tyler (Josh) Garcia, Kellen (Derek) Peterson, Zac (Jocie) Karbo; grandchildren, Jace, Tanner, and Rye Peterson, Paxton and Hudson Karbo, and Lori and Cole Garcia; his siblings, Nancy (Tim) Young, Michael (Bridget) Karbo, and David (Kathy) Karbo; and numerous nieces and nephews. The world lost one of the good ones. Celebration of Life will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 907 Washington Drive, Weatherford, TX on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Lunch, visitation with the family and “story hour” will immediately follow.
