Harvey Lee Sanders, 95, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and Friend peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024, in his sleep in Azle.

Harvey was born in Springtown, Texas and grew up on his family farm. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Air Force where he served in Japan for 2 years. 

Harvey met his wife Hazel in 1956 on a blind date and they were married in December 1956. They lived briefly in Fort Worth before moving to Azle in 1958. 

Harvey liked to raise cows and garden. He also enjoyed woodworking and crafting with his wife Hazel.  He was a Boy Scout as a boy and later he became a Boy Scout Leader making 3 summer treks to Philmont Scout Ranch.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Harvey is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; mother, Vera; and father, Harvey. 

Harvey is survived by his children, Gary (wife Jeanette) and Debbie (husband James); his grandchildren, Ashley (husband Michael), JC, William, and Kathryn; and his great-grandchildren, Olivia, Macgregor, and McCoy.  

A graveside memorial service at Jaybird Cemetery, Reno, TX is planned for 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 20, 2024.
