Howard Leon Mehaffey,  89, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 in Weatherford.Visitation:  2 - 4 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2017 at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Avenue, Weatherford.Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Sunday, August 13, at Morehart Mortuary, 1101 W. Walker, Breckenridge, 76424.Howard was born on November 2, 1927 to  H. H. and Eddith Roberson Mehaffey in Breckenridge, Texas.After graduating Breckenridge High School, Howard worked for an oil company, then owned a trucking company in Hamlin, Texas.  He served in the Signal Corp of the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War.  Howard married Pat Capps on August 4, 1950 in Henrietta, Texas.  He was also a member of First United Methodist Church, Breckenridge Bass Club, Breckenridge Elks Lodge and American Legion Post #163.Howard was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters and grandson, Drew Fowler.Survivors:  Loving wife, Pat Capps Mehaffey; daughters, Keven (Bryce) Fowler, Kimi Beeson, and Kayla (David) Lee; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Aaron, Joe, and Terry; Sisters, Jenice Bacon, and Sue Thompson.Arrangements in care of White's Funeral Home, Weatherford.
