Jack Lynn Smith, 87, passed away Monday, September 16, 2024 in Colorado.

Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 23, 2024 at the Fundamental Baptist Church in Springtown, TX.

Interment: 10:15 a.m., Friday, September 27, 2024, at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, TX.

He was born October 17, 1936 in Hawthorne, Nevada to Lynn E. Smith and Ruby Mae Hammock Smith.

Jack attended Mineral County School, graduating in 1954.  He met his wife Maureen in Newfoundland, Canada, they would be married for 65 years, living in many interesting places.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1956 and served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1959.

Jack entered the field of broadcasting and became a newscaster on radio, remaining in that field for 43 years, working in San Diego, California; Austin, Texas; San Jose, California and Guadalajara, Mexico.

Jack was a faithful member of the Fundamental Baptist Church in Springtown, and loved to travel, especially to Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jack is survived by his wife, Maureen; his son, Stephen and wife Kim, daughter Laurie and husband Mike, son Mike and wife Ann; son Alex and wife Megan; grandchildren, Jack, Yohan, Branden, Tina, Carter, Max, Taryn, Darby and great-grandson, Oliver.

He was loved and will be remembered and missed by all the family and friends who knew him.
