Jacob Ryan Acosta, 24, of Mineral Wells, passed away on June 20, 2024, after a ten-year battle with an aggressive brain tumor.

Jacob was born on September 17, 1999, to Dustin and Ann Acosta in Mineral Wells.
From a young age, he had been in love with sports. A self-proclaimed pro, he excelled at baseball since he was five. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, and competing with his brothers. Jacob and his brothers were inseparable growing up. They were always outdoors playing football in the street.
On April 7, 2014, Jacob was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor. Unexpectedly, his life and the lives of those around him had turned upside down. What came after was a series of trials that brought him and his family together. However, his faith remained strong in God and his life’s mission was to make people smile.
After Jacob graduated from Mineral Wells High School in 2018, he spent time living life to the fullest, making everlasting memories with friends and family. He took on hobbies like close-up magic, golf, chess, and pool. He always loved being around his family.
Before Jacob was diagnosed, his dream was to be a physical trainer, however, he went to Weatherford College in 2024 to earn a pharmacy technician certificate. After graduating from Weatherford College in early June 2024, his dream was to compound medicine to help people.
Jacob was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Joe Acosta and Jack Thomas, and cousin, Eric Lee Flores.
He is survived by his mother Ann Thomas; father Dustin Acosta (Danielle); brothers, Caleb Acosta (Veronyka), Matthew Acosta, and Alec Acosta; grandmothers, Frances Wood, Geneva Guzman and Velva Thomas; aunts, Lisa Acosta, Stephanie Acosta, Leslie Acosta, Lexie Glover, Kelli Thomas, and Daniella Acosta; uncles, Matthew Thomas and Anthony Acosta; nephews, Cayson Acosta and Chandler Acosta; niece, Clea Acosta; cousins, Aisha, Dylan, Heather (Gage), Megan (Alisha), Jonathan (Rachel), Breanna (Erin), Amber (Lane), Brandon (Paige), Ashley Hope (Jarrett), Nallely, Nathaniel, Julian, Alissa; numerous second cousins; and countless friends.
He was a beacon of light in a worldly world, and he will be missed by all who knew him.
