James Michael “Mike” Fisher passed away ever so peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, February 9, 2024. Mike was born James Michael Rowan to Lawrence Rowan and Thelma Wellard in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 26, 1941. He met the love of his life, Carol Gartman, in Mineral Wells, Texas and they married in Oklahoma. Mike and Carol spent the majority of their 50 years of married life in Weatherford, Texas, where they raised a family and had many friends. He and Carol were gracious hosts who loved spending time with friends and family, cooking and sharing with them dinners they prepared every holiday and most Sundays. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters; son, Michael “Tank”; and grandson, Evan. Mike is survived by his wife, Carol; sister, Jackie; and children, Steven (Kate) Gardner of Valencia, Spain, Rebecca (Jefferson) Davis of Killeen, Texas, Shawna (Brian) Pack of Nacogdoches, Texas, Rickie (Barbara) Fisher of Chico, Texas, Jimmy (Angela) Fisher of Mineral Wells, Texas, Tammy Fisher of Weatherford, Texas, and Jason (Haley) Fisher of Weatherford, Texas. Mike has thirteen grandchildren, Aidan (Jessica), Christopher, Dakota, Emma (Cody), Geri (David), Justin (Brooke), Breann (Austin), Garrett, Summer (Dustin), Madyson, Collin, Trenton, and Erykah. He was fortunate to enjoy his six great-grandchildren including, Audreyana, Alice, Skarlett, Kade, Kai and Zowie. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Solaris Hospice for their care and compassion to our dad during his last days. You are welcome to join us in a celebration of Mike’s life at Whites Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave. in Weatherford on Thursday, February 15, 2024 Visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 with the Funeral Service at 1:30. Burial at East Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford will follow the service.
