James Daniel Park, 87, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022 at his home in Springtown. Visitation: 6-8pm, Thursday, November 17, White’s Funeral Home Chapel, Springtown. Graveside Service: 12:00 pm, Friday, November 18, Park Cemetery, Madisonville, TX. James was born April 8, 1935 in Huntsville, TX; son of Bun F. and Ima Iris (Phillips) Park. James proudly and bravely served his country in the United States Navy. For years, James had his own shrimping business in South Texas. The other fishermen lovingly referred to him as “Captain Hook”. After moving back to Hunstville, he would be reconnected with his sweetheart from 35 years earlier, the former Barbara Luton. When they reconnected, the spark was as strong as ever and they were married in 1994. After moving to Springtown in 1996, James would work for 16 years in Grounds Maintenance for Springtown Independent School District. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Springtown. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Jimmy Park; brother, Lonnie Park; sister, Eleanor Patterson. Survivors include his loving wife of 26 years, Barbara Park; son, Scott Lambright (Trina); brothers, Nathan Park, Sam Park, and Tommy Park ; sisters, Joan Cooner, and Janie Dulaney; and a host of other extended family members and friends.
