Reverend James “J.W.” Simpson, 92, a loving husband, grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 at his home with his family by his side. Service: 10:00 A.M. Saturday at White’s Azle Chapel. Interment: Pioneer Cemetery in Graham, Texas. Visitation: 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Saturday at White’s Azle Funeral Home. J.W. was born April 14, 1925 in Graham to James Henry and Linnie Mae Mixon. He was an ordained minister for over 40 years, a missionary thru- out Mexico for 25 years, built several churches, trained ministers and worked in the oil and gas industry. J.W. also bought and sold oil field equipment. He was a member and minister at the House of Prayer. J.W. loved people with open arms. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mildred Simpson; daughter, Janie Davis; and two sisters. Survivors: Wife of 18 years, Joyce Simpson; step-son, Billy Morrison; step-daughter, Sandie Beets; grandson, Daniel Davis; step-grandchildren, Desiree Grubbs, Donnie Grubbs, Christy Kelley and Jenny Hummel; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary and Winn; brother, Chuck Simpson; several nephews, nieces and loving family members.
