James Watkins

James Clinton Watkins was embraced by his Heavenly Father and taken home on June 26, 2017 at the age of 87. Graveside Service:  10 a.m. Thursday at Memory Gardens of the Valley, Weatherford.Visitation:  6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.James was born on October 26, 1929 to Paul and Mattie Watkins.  He attended area schools and joined the United States Army at the age of eighteen.  At that same age, he saw combat in Korea and was awarded the Bronze Star.  James had a twenty-three year career in the Army.  After that, he worked in civil service at the Weatherford Post Office for twenty years.James had three main passions in his life.  First was his boundless love for his family.  Second was his limitless respect and honor for the men and women of the Armed Services, both past and present.  Last was his great joy and enthusiasm for the game of golf.James is preceded in death by his cherished wife, Cleo; his parents; one sister; and five brothers. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.Services are in care of White's Funeral Home, Weatherford.
