Janie Preston Murray passed suddenly on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 of complications following surgery. She was 69.Memorial Service: 10 a.m. Monday, August 5, 2019 in White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford 76086.Inurnment: 12:30 p.m. at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Memorials: A donation to your favorite charity is requested in lieu of flowers. Janie was born in Paris, Texas on June 11, 1950. Her family moved to Weatherford when she was 2 years old. Janie graduated from Weatherford High School in 1968 and in 1969, she met and married her husband, Jeff, for what was to be a 49 year journey. He immediately took her to College Station so he could finish college, after which they embarked on the life of a military couple, living in Ft. Hood, Germany, Kentucky, Italy, Alabama, Germany again, and Georgia before moving to Fort Worth in 1990 when Jeff retired. During this time she received the highest U.S. Army civilian volunteer award possible for her charity work in Germany, and was President of the Kaiserslautern Officer’s Wives Club. Janie then embarked on a 25 year very enjoyable job working in the office of Dr. Martin Persons, M.D. She and Martin both retired in 2015, and she and Jeff began traveling, something they kicked into high gear when Jeff retired in 2018. Janie’s lifelong dream was to visit Egypt, a trip slated for October. She will be there in spirit, we’re sure.Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Corrie Preston; brothers, Dan, Michael, and John Preston; sister, Pat; and nephew, Michael John Wortman.She is survived by husband, Jeff; daughters, Laura Koscielniak (Roger), Jacque Hartman (Ryan), and Elizabeth, along with 9 year old Avery Koscielniak and 2 year old Hank Hartman, the absolute loves of her life; sister, Jacque Wortman (Mike); brother, A.D. Preston (Nina); sister-in-law, Wanda Preston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
