On Friday March 26, 2021 Jealeta Laverne Maddux of Mineral Wells; loving wife and mother of three children, passed away at age 97. Funeral Service: 2:00pm Thursday, April 1, 2021 at White’s Funeral Home Chapel in Mineral Wells. Visitation: 6:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at White's Funeral Home, Mineral Wells. Interment will be at Ballew Springs Cemetery. Jealeta was born January 4, 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri to William Fowler and Audrey Jones. Her family moved to Mineral Wells where she later met and married Clarence M. Maddux. They raised three sons, Alton, Billy, and Kevin. About two years after Clarence’s passing, Jealeta married retired local pastor, John C. Dews. Jealeta was a talented seamstress selling items of clothing from home, and working at various apparel and domestic companies, while still managing to raise her children in a Christian environment. She loved working with her hands, and during her idle moments loved to crochet and embroidery. Many of the items she produced are greatly cherished by family and friends today. She was the glue that held her family together through rough times. Jealeta is preceded in death by husbands, Clarence and John C. Dews; all her immediate birth family; and great-granddaughter, Cassandra Maddux. Jealeta is survived by her three sons; Alton and wife, Sandra, Billy and wife, Evelene, Kevin and wife, Swanny; grandchildren, Stephen, Mark, Deanna (Parker), Timothy, and Zane; great-grandchildren, Justin, Ridge, Tyler, and Bradlee; great-great-grandchild, Lilly. Pallbearers; Stephen, Mark, Timothy, Zane, Justin, Ridge, Tyler, and Bradlee Maddux.
