Jerry Dean Williams

Jerry Dean “Roy” Williams, a longtime resident of Weatherford, Texas, died Friday, May 31, 2019 at the age of 56, in Fort Worth, Texas.  Funeral Service:  1 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Hall, 2251 Mineral Wells Hwy., Weatherford,  76086. Burial:  3:30 p.m. in Aledo Brown Cemetery, Aledo. Visitation:  6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Jerry was born December 21, 1962, in Borger, Texas to Janis Rose Price and Johnnie Edward Garrard. The oldest of six children, he became the cornerstone of his entire family, including his siblings, cousins, children and adorable grandchildren. After spending his childhood in the Panhandle, Jerry moved to the Abilene area.  He was a star athlete at Lueders Avoca High School.  He excelled as quarterback, running back, and kicker for his 6-man football team, was also strong in basketball, and was known to slam dunk a volleyball.  He was an avid member of the FFA, where he showed many animals, and made sure his sisters were involved as well. He attended college for a short time, and then began his career as a working Cowboy. He started team roping and competing in Ranch Rodeo events as a young adult and would continue until a couple of weeks before his death.  Other interests included training border collies, where he enjoyed success competing in dog trials.  He was a keen billiards player, and was the dedicated Captain of his team in the APA Pool League.  Around the age of 41, Jerry began a new career in the oil and gas industry, working first with Empire, then Chesapeake, and most recently with The Williams Companies, where he was highly regarded for his work ethic and skill. Jerry married his best friend, Debbie, on October 2, 2004.  They spent the last 15 years working side by side, travelling to rodeos, having fun, and enjoying life together. Jerry was a loving father to his four children, and he spent many hours taking them to their sporting and rodeo events, where he was their number one fan, coach, and referee.  Jerry especially loved spending time with his four grandchildren, showing them the ways of ranch life, and the importance of family time. His heart, smile and mustache were as big as Texas. He gained a lifetime of knowledge, and shared it with the many friends he met along the way. We shall not see his kind again.  Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Debbie; children, Kimberly Williams, Amber Williams and fiancé, Jeffrey Shaw, Trevor Williams, Kallie and husband, Zane Peters; grandchildren, Daphyne Williams, Colby Scott, Rance and Riley Peters; mother, Janis Edwards; brothers and sisters, Tony Williams, Beth and husband, Michael Phillips, Yancey and Debbie Cashell, LaJeanna Willard and fiancé, Brad Adair, Kathy and husband, Michael Hicks; nephew, Christopher and wife, Jesi Willard; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
