Jimmie Sue Lockhart, 85, went to be with her Savior, Sunday, June 25, 2017 at home surrounded by her family.Service: 10:00 am Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Springtown, with Dr. Hal Kinkeade officiating. Visitation: 6 – 8 pm Tuesday at White’s Funeral Home, 401 North Main Street. Interment: Springtown Cemetery.Sue was born in Portland, Texas on August 12, 1931 to James Ezra Carrier and Dorothea Sue Blankenship Carrier.Sue wore many hats, she was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, and above all a Christian. She became a member of the First Baptist Church of Springtown in 1955. She was involved in many areas of service as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, WMU, GA’s, home bound ministry, and Joy Singers, to mention a few.Sue was a professional woman, working for a County Judge, The Fort Worth Press, The Weatherford Democrat, and a business owner. She was named as “Woman of the Year”. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for almost 50 years.Sue was instrumental in many firsts for Springtown, The Springtown Rodeo Club, and what is now Neighbor to Neighbor.Preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Earnie, and her parents.Survivors: daughters, Rhonda White and husband, Steve, Rene Carter and husband, Jimmy, and Sharron Miles all of Springtown; son, Robert Lockhart of Springtown; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; brothers, Charles Carrier and wife, Helen of Springtown, and John Carrier and wife, Phyllis of Dallas; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends also survive.The family would like to thank Solaris Hospice for making her last days comfortable and extended care givers Kelly Harbour, Vickie Darter, and Dottie Mitchell.
