Jimmy Harrod, Sr., 77, beloved father and papaw passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018.Visitation: 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home.Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 at White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.Interment: Annetta Cemetery following the service.Jimmy was born March 20, 1940 in Vernon, son of Joe William and Lillie Mae Littlefield Harrod.Jimmy was a fighter from the word go. He spent four years in the U. S. Army as a marksman and did morse code in the 7 Special Forces. He was a boxer in the service and became the 1958 Champion. He also fought in the Golden Gloves.Jimmy lived a very full life. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved camping with family and friends while cussin' and discussin' good times. He enjoyed boating and taught many to ski. His real passion was fishing.Jimmy had a successful tree company and passed his legacy on to his son. Jimmy was a man's man. He enjoyed his vodka and a smoke and could really scoot a boot.Jimmy was a proud longtime Shriner as a Master Mason in the 1372 White Settlement Chapter.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Pat; brothers, Robert and Jerry Ray.Survivors: Son, J J Harrod and wife, Brandi; grandson, Zack Leatherwood; step-grandchildren, Austin Doty, Shianne Doty, and Jacob Doty; and numerous family and friends.
