Joetta Ruth Alexander was born January 3, 1936, the last of 9 children born to Joseph and Ruth Lack of Big Flat, Arkansas.Memorial Service: 3 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 at Central Christian Church, 1602 S. Main St., Weatherford.Joetta was born in Leslie, Arkansas amidst the Ozark Mountains. She graduated from Springdale High School and worked at a bank in Springdale for a year before setting out for Texas. She attended a business school in Dallas training for a career in secretarial work. Her first job was with KVG Architects in Fort Worth, TX . While working there she met Sid Alexander at a grocery store where she did her shopping. They were married and lived in Dallas, moved to Whitesboro to a lovely country acreage and ended up in Weatherford. Sid passed away in 2001 and Joetta immersed herself in taking care of her neighbors and friends until a fall in 2015 slowed her down. She and Sid had no children of their own but doted on their nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. She opened her home to guests and visitors and her home was a special destination for family and friends alike. She was outgoing, loved people and made good friends. Joetta was active in her church and enjoyed attending services there. She made quite possibly the world’s best fudge and beef brisket and always drove as fast as possible to her destinations thereby making many acquaintances in the law enforcement community. She made many trips with her good friend Mary Lou on cruises, trips to Nevada and Oklahoma as well as Concerts in the Garden and at Bass Hall. She also looked forward to spending time with her friends on Margarita Night in Weatherford. She will be missed by many….Joetta was preceded in death by her husband, Sid; her brothers, Elwood Lack, Edwin Lack, Joseph Lack; twin sisters, Martha Nelson and Enid Heathcoat and sisters Angelia Pender and Lida Mary. She is survived by her sister, Ophelia Moen and husband, Al, in Alexandria, Minnesota; along with many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
