John Ross Burnett

John Ross Burnett, born in Yale, Oklahoma to John Everit Burnett and Lilly Ruth Burnett passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. He grew up in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and graduated from Muskogee Central High School. Ross honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was a retired machinist, who for many years was self-employed, owner of The Workshop. Ross was an avid reader, enjoyed competitive shooting with the Aurora Blackpowder Club and trips to WinStar Casino. John married the love of his life, Carolyn Lecroy in 1967. They have lived in Azle since 1970. Survivors include wife, Carolyn Burnett; son, Wesley Burnett and wife, Kim; daughter, Lillian Yarborough and husband, Timothy; granddaughters, Destiny Burnett and Jacquelyn Yarborough; many nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Ross wants to remind everyone that it is only 12 months until Christmas.
