John Evan Ferrell, Sr., 87, passed away on Sunday, December 29 at his home in Aurora.
Funeral Service: 10am Monday, January 6, 2025, White’s Funeral Home Azle, 105 Denver Trail, Azle.
Graveside Service: 2:30pm Monday, January 6, 2025 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mt Creek Parkway, Dallas.
John was born April 27, 1937 in San Saba; son of James Ferrell and Mamie (Moore) Ferrell. John proudly and bravely served his country in the United States Air Force. He was musical by nature and would play woodwind instruments in the Air Force Band. He met the love of his life Adrienne Bozzano and they were married on February 14, 1959 at Mather Air Force Base in California. They would go on to spend 49 happy years together, until her passing in 2008.After his military service, John would work for over 25 years for the United States Postal Service. Mechanically minded as he was, he also loved to work on cars, and he built bicycles for Fort Worth Cycle and fitness; specifically, he built racing bikes and bicycles for the Police Department. In addition, keeping with his love for music, in his later years he would build custom guitars, banjos, and other small string instruments.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Adrienne Ferrell; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his son, John Ferrell, Jr. and wife, Karen; grandson, Ian Thomas Ferrell and wife Christina; two great-granddaughters, Miriam and Vivian; one brother, Ray Ferrell; numerous nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.
