John Jay Sweeney

John Jay Sweeney, 73, beloved husband, Dad, G-Pa and friend passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Azle, 1017 Boyd Road (FM 730 North), Azle 76020. Interment: Sweeney Family Cemetery, Weatherford Visitation: 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the church. John was born December 5, 1946 in Fort Worth, son of John Atchison and Charlotte Jane Thompson Sweeney. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. John met and married the love of his life, Beverly Brandon, and they spent 47 happy years together. Survivors: Wife, Beverly Brandon Sweeney of Weatherford; daughters, Chandler Jaye Choate and husband, Eric, of Plano, and Kara Denae Noah and husband, Andrew, of Arlington; son, Sean Brandon Sweeney and girlfriend, Danica Salcido, of Austin; grandchildren, Hunter Wesley Noah, John Weston Noah and Sylver Nova Sweeney; and many extended family members and friends.
