Kenneth Earl Chadwell, 84, of Springtown, Texas, passed away September 23, 2023, after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, September 28, 2023, at White's Funeral Home Chapel in Springtown. Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 29, 2023, at Cornerstone Community Church in Springtown. Interment: Friday, September 29, 2023 in Springtown Cemetery. Born the only child of Odell and Maudy Lee Eddleman Chadwell in Fort Worth, Texas, on Sept 2, 1939, the family moved to Springtown when he was 12 yrs old. He graduated Springtown High school in 1957 and attended Baylor University shortly after. Kenneth was a smart young businessman and in Oct. 1959, started the propane business, Chadwell & Son Gas, that is still Chadwell family owned and operated to this day, in its 64th year of business. He soon joined the military as a Naval pilot leaving the business to his parents to run in his absence and from then on flying was a favorite part of his life. Kenneth owned and operated Chadwell Ambulance Service in Springtown for 13 years. He also owned and operated Northgate Homes and built several homes and businesses in the surrounding Parker County area, including the Springtown Post office and Senior Citizens building. Kenneth married Vernell Hampton on June 19, 1970 and together they ran multiple other businesses along with Chadwell & Son and raised a large family. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Odell and Maudy Lee Chadwell and daughter Cathy Chadwell. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Vernell; son, Kerry Chadwell and wife Paula; granddaughters, Alexis Chadwell and fiancé Robert Casteel, Isabel Chadwell and fiancé Vincent Senato; daughter-in-law, Karen Watson-Hale; granddaughter, Krystal Archibeque and husband Rodney; great-grandson, Ridge Archibeque; grandson, Kasey Chadwell and wife Shawnte; sons, Keith and Kevin Chadwell; granddaughter Kaymie deCento and husband Chase; great-grandson Kason deCentoand many more family, friends and loved ones.
