Larry Don Smith, 58, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022 at home in Possum Kingdom surrounded by his family. Larry was born January 25, 1964 in Dallas, TX to Ronald and Sherill Ragsdale Smith. He was raised at Possum Kingdom Lake and attended school in Graford where he graduated with the class of ‘82. Larry loved to scuba dive and did salvage and recovery at the lake in his younger years. He attended the College of Oceaneering in Wilmington Beach, California, studying underwater welding, which was a lifelong dream of his. He raised his family in Joshua, TX. Larry was an electrician all his life which earned him the nickname "Sparky" by many, but close friends knew him as “handshake”. He was fun, loving, but most of all adventurous. He saw the world in a different light than everyone else and lived “outside the box”. He is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Dee Smith; and grandparents, Naomi Faye Wells, Don Wells, Howard Ragsdale, Addy Irving Smith, and Doris Elizabeth Smith. He is survived by his mother, Sheri and step father, Tom Reid; sister, Dee Sheree Morrison; daughter, Kara Day Smith; son, Kaleb Dee Smith and wife, Nicole; grandchildren, Gavin Dale, Genesis Dawn, and Edward Dee Smith; numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces. He was loved by nearly everyone he met, whether he knew it or not. The world will be a little less vivid, in everyone’s life he touched.
