Larry Wayne Swift

Larry Wayne Swift was called home on Friday, February 16, 2024 to be with our Lord and Savior. Graveside Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Memory Gardens of The Valley Memorial Park, 5600 Mineral Wells Hwy., Weatherford. Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Whites Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Larry was born March 3, 1956 in Wichita Falls, Texas. His mother and father raised him and his sister in Azle, Texas. He moved to Dallas with his family in his teenage years, where he finished out his high school education. Shortly after finishing high school, Larry enlisted in the U. S. Navy. After proudly serving in Vietnam, he returned state side to San Diego where he was medically discharged. Larry returned back to DFW where he soon met the light of his life, Brenda Bright. They were married February 9, 1979 in Fort Worth, Texas. After they married, they moved to Azle, and raised their children. Larry retired in 2011 after 34 years of service from Luminent, where he was a Power Plant Operator. After he retired, they moved to Weatherford, where he enjoyed golf with his friends and being a proud papa to his beautiful grandkids. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 45 years, Brenda Swift; children, Chris Mathis of Blue Mound, Lauren Stoff and husband, Rob, of Weatherford, Spencer Swift and wife, Hillary, of Decatur; grandchildren, Saylor Stoff, Owen Swift, McCoy Swift and Collins Swift; as well as many other family members and friends who he truly loved.
