Lowell (Dodie) Sullivan, Jr., 87, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and mentor to many, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 in his home, surrounded by loved ones.Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford.Visitation: 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at White's Funeral Home.Dodie was born September 4, 1930 in Weatherford, son of Lowell Sullivan, Sr. and Dollie Lindsay Sullivan. He met and married the love of his life, Jo Ann Griffith, and they spent many happy years together. Dodie was a lifelong resident of Weatherford and a longtime business owner of Texaco on South Main St. He was a Son of the Republic of Texas, member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge, President of Active Abandonment Cemeteries and a member of the Genealogy Society of Parker County. Dodie was President of Weatherford High School Class of 1947. He was a great outdoorsman, enjoying many outdoor activities.Dodie was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Chester Sullivan.Survivors: Wife of almost 68 years, Jo Ann Sullivan; daughter, Dr. Brandi Buckner and her husband, Jerry; grandson, Dax T. S. Mitchell and wife, Jamie; great-granddaughter, Harlowe Moon Mitchell; best friend for over 50 years, Bud Freeman; nephew, Allen Sullivan and family; and many other family members and friends.
