Maria Margarita Miranda Debesa passed away on December 15, 2020 with her beloved daughter by her side. No service is planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution in Maria's name may be sent to Grandview Nursing Home and Rehab, if so desired. Maria was born on December 24, 1937 in Santiago, Chile. She was a resident of Weatherford since August 13, 1971. She resided at Grandview Nursing Home and Rehab since October, 2019, where she was cared for and loved by the wonderful staff. Maria's main devotion was to her family, who adored her. She always put her children first before tending to her own needs. She made her first emotional return to her native Chile in 1989, followed by several more visits. Maria was a very talented seamstress, well-known to many fellow citizens of Weatherford. In 2016, the Hispanic community of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Weatherford bestowed upon her a commemorative plaque in honor of her role as the main initiator of establishing the celebration of Mass in Spanish at St. Stephen's in March of 1983. Maria is preceded in death by her parents, Maria Roman de Miranda and Manuel Ramon Miranda; husband, Jaime Debesa; brother, Ramon Miranda; and sister, Mirella Miranda. She is survived by her daughter, Maria York and spouse, Terry of Alvarado; son Manuel Debesa of Weatherford; grandchildren, Sara York, Laura York, and Nicholas York and spouse, Jamie; sister, Gladys Miranda; and her beloved relatives in Chile.
