Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Marjorie was an inspiration to everyone she met. Her love for all, gentle kindness and sense of humor was reflected in the always-present twinkle in her eye. Marj grew up in the west Texas “cotton patch” and was one of nine children. She married her husband, Bob on Christmas Eve, 1947 after a two-week romance. Happily married, they lived in Dallas where Bob rose to the rank of Assistant Chief of the Dallas Police Department. They retired to Weatherford Texas and celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary before Bob’s passing in 2017. Marj was mother to four wonderful children, seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. In her later years, her home was Presbyterian Village North in Dallas where she enjoyed the company of her neighbors, sharing bird watching, weekly outings, and playing bingo and poker. Marj’s faith, loving family and adoring PVN caregivers remained the light of her life until her peaceful passing surrounded by her loving family.
