Marletta Jane Atchley

Marletta Jane Black Atchley, 86, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, Tuesday, October 8, 2024 in Springtown, Tx.

Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, October 14, 2024 at White's Funeral Home Chapel in Springtown.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at White's Funeral Home Chapel in Springtown.

Interment: Springtown Cemetery, Springtown.

Jane was born November 14, 1937 in Fort Worth, Texas to Oran Black and Mary Roberts Black.

She married Delane Aaron Atchley on July 5, 1955 in Fort Worth shortly after graduating from North Side High School.  Jane was employed as a draftsman for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for several years.  

She had a quiet and calm disposition and loved her family, church and many friends.   Jane also found enjoyment in attending and "rooting" for her two favorite teams-the University of Texas Longhorns and Springtown Porcupines.  She was an avid reader and loved to travel, particularly to the mountains of Colorado.  Although the mountains held a special place in her heart, she cherished her trips to Canada, Hawaii and London, England, and considered them lifetime highlights.  

Jane was a faithful member of the Church of Christ her entire life.

She was  preceded in death by her parents and loving husband of 65 years, Delane A Atchley.

Jane is survived by her two daughters, Holly Atchley, Robin Pennington and husband, Len; grandson, Alfred Pawelek, III "Trace" and wife Stephanie; special cousin, Ernestine Atchley; and a host of family and friends.  

She will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved her.  A special thanks is extended to the Staff of Springtown Park Nursing and Rehab Center and Solaris for their loving care.
