Mary Ann Moss Wright, 92, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 due to natural causes, in a Fort Worth hospital. The celebration of her life will be Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 10 a.m. at North Side Baptist Church, 910 North Main St., Weatherford, Texas 76086. Burial will follow at East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Center of Hope or North Side Christian Preschool Scholarship Fund. Mary was born August 22, 1928 in Bonham, Texas with her twin sister, Martha, to John H. and Eva Moss. The family moved to Fort Worth when the twins were nine years old. Mary graduated from Paschal High School. While attending Cozzen’s Business College, she worked at Fuqua’s Grocery and Coffee Shop as a cashier, and Haltom’s Jewelers. Living in Fort Worth, she met the love of her life, Bill W. Wright, in November of 1949, and they were married between school semesters, on her birthday, the following year. In February of 1951, after receiving a teaching job, Bill and Mary moved to Weatherford. They became members of North Side Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, worked with the G. A.’s, sang in the choir, and served in many other areas of the church, as well. After moving to Weatherford, her first job was working at the Merchants and Farmers State Bank. Mary attended Weatherford College and began working alongside her husband, with Weatherford ISD. She served as secretary at T. W. Stanley Elementary, Administration Building and Central Elementary. Mary also served as Financial Secretary at North Side Baptist Church. In 1980, Mary opened Wright Gifts where she was able to blend her impeccable taste and style while offering her expertise and gift of giving. Later she returned to serving in First Baptist Church, as the pastor’s secretary, where she retired at the age of 78 to be a full time Mimi. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, John W. Moss. Her survivors include her husband of 70 years, Bill; children, Lynda, Lana, and Adrian; grandchildren, Lyndsie and husband, Daniel Montgomery, Jordan and wife, Charlcie Robinson; great-grandchildren, Paxton and Maddox, Emma and Ruthanne; twin sister, Martha; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a multitude of wonderful friends.
