GRANBURY - Mary Evelyn Holcomb Holloway, 92, beloved wife, and mother, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 13, 2020. Graveside Service: 2 p.m. Thursday in East Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford. Visitation: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday in White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Mary was born Nov. 10, 1928 to Brady Holcomb and Mary Blanch Holcomb in Weatherford. At seven years of age, she was baptized and joined the First Methodist Church in Weatherford along with family. She attended Travis Elementary and Weatherford High School where she graduated in 1946. She then attended Weatherford Junior College and graduated in 1948. On July 3, 1948, Mary was married to Oscar Edward Holloway. She worked at General Tire and Rubber in Odessa as an inventory and payroll clerk, then moved to El Paso and worked as a government clerk. In 1968, Mary and Oscar moved back to Weatherford to be with family, and Mary worked with the Army Community Service Office at Fort Wolters Helicopter Training Base until the base's closure in 1974. Mary was then employed by the Parker County Committee on Aging in 1976, where she was promoted from secretary to project manager until she retired in 1990. Mary and Oscar Holloway were married for 72 years at the time of Mary's passing. They were blessed with two precious children, Dona Lee Holloway Buie and Glen Edward Holloway; and two grandsons, Charles Brady Weaver and Michael Heath Weaver. Mary was preceded in death by her son, Glen Edward Holloway; father, Brady Holcomb; mother, Blanche Holcomb; brother, Brady Gerald Holcomb; and brother-in-law, William H. Holloway. She is survived by her husband, Oscar Holloway; daughter, Dona Buie; grandchildren, Kristy Harris, Brady Weaver and Michael Weaver; nephew, Rene Holcomb; and niece, Angie Bass and husband, Benny.
