Mary Martha Hardie Jackson, 96, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021. Visitation: 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Oakland Cemetery, Weatherford. Mary was born August 15, 1925 in Fort Worth, Texas, daughter of Alton Young Hardie and Mary Ophelia Betts Hardie. Up until her retirement, Mary worked for many years as a teacher for Fort Worth ISD, educating the youth of her community. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, a member of the Parker County Republican Women, and a past president of the Friends of the Weatherford Public Library. Mary is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Capt. James Woodman; second husband, J. C. “Jake” Jackson; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Woodman; stepdaughter, Marletta Marie Jackson; and brother, Billy Alton Hardie. She is survived by her son, Richard Alton Woodman and wife, Sandra; several nieces and nephews; and a multitude of extended family and friends. In her 96 years, Mary made an impact on countless lives, and she will be missed by all who knew her.
