Maryann "Molly" Duffy Balas

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Maryann “Molly” Duffy Balas of Whitt, Texas, who died at the age of 86 on Thursday, March 13th, 2025.

The funeral will be a private ceremony in the presence of close family. 

Molly was born in Elyria, Ohio on December 28th, 1938, to Gene and Barbara Duffy. She was raised as an only child and fell quickly in love with her high school sweetheart turned husband’s larger family. 

Molly was a loving homemaker and wife. She loved running the family businesses and some of her fondest were owning the marina on the Trinity River, “Molly’s Place”. 

She was preceded in death by both her parents; and loving husband of 69 years, Darryl Balas. Her biggest heartbreak in life was losing her son, Darryl, Jr. and may that be her greatest reunion. 

Molly is survived by children, Deann Bradley and Darin Balas; grandchildren, Addison Bradley, Trent and Ally (Bradley) Tatom, and Cutter and Daryen Balas; great-granddaughters, Paige and Emily Bradley, and Ada Jane and Della Jean Tatom.
