Mary Alice Messimer Robertson

Mary Alice Messimer Robertson, 85, of Weatherford, passed away early on Sunday, May 28, 2017, surrounded by her family in her home.Graveside Service:  10 a.m. Wednesday in Spring Creek Cemetery, Parker County.Visitation:  6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.Mary was born on June 2, 1931, in Strawn, Texas, daughter to the late Willie Mae and Henry Grady Messimer. She married Ross Robertson, Jr. on February 28, 1950 and together they had two children, Jerry and Debbie. Mary loved gardening and relaxing on the porch, taking delight in the butterflies and hummingbirds that flew about the colorful beds of flowers. She also enjoyed painting pastoral landscapes and farm scenes, as well as spending time with her three grandsons and great-grandson.She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ross L. Robertson, Jr.; brothers, Leroy Messimer and wife, Ouida, Myrle Messimer and wife, Dora Mae, Doyce Messimer, and Murry Messimer.Survivors include her son, Jerry Robertson of Bedford; daughter, Debbie Vaughan and husband, Dean, of Weatherford; grandson, Alex Robertson and wife, Kristin, and son, Trent of Dallas; grandson, Shawn Robertson of Euless; grandson, Jason Vaughan of Annapolis, Md.; sisters-in-law, Thelma Messimer and Mary Lou Messimer, both of Weatherford; family friends, Suzanne Tandy and Katherine Towson; many nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends.Services are in care of White's Funeral Home, Weatherford.
