Melba Ann Chilcutt Blair, 85, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025 in Fort Worth.
Visitation: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.
Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025 at North Side Baptist Church, 910 North Main St., Weatherford.
Interment: Springtown Cemetery in Springtown.
Melba was born July 30, 1939 in Weatherford, daughter of William Lester & Lois Fay (Parks) Chilcutt. She graduated from Weatherford High School in 1956, and from Weatherford College in 1958. Melba met the love of her life, Melvyn Bruce Blair and they were married September 16, 1960. They spent many happy years together raising their family in the love of the Lord, until Melvyn’s passing. Melba lived in the Weatherford and Springtown areas her entire life. She worked at many places over her lifetime including Justin Boot Company, Borden Seaberry and Edgar Nash, Attorneys, Brantley Pringle and George McManus, Attorneys, Guardian Title Company, Texas Bank, formerly Merchants and Farmers Bank, and Five M Investors.
Melba was saved and baptized at the age of 11, in August of 1950. She was currently an active member of North Side Baptist Church, where she was the pianist for her Sunday School class. Melba was formerly a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church in Springtown, where she was the pianist and organist for many years.
Melba was a former member of the Fort Worth Porcelain and Art Club, The Crazy Campers Club, and the Weatherford College Booster Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Lester Chilcutt and Lois Fay (Parks) Chilcutt; her beloved husband, Melvyn Bruce Blair; and her infant brother, Melvin Chilcutt.
Survivors include her three children, Mark Alan Blair and Gretchen Egger, of Springtown, Vickie Michele Hunsucker and her husband, Chris Hunsucker, of San Antonio, and Myron Lester Blair of Weatherford; six grandchildren, Michael Blair, Jeremy Blair and wife, Britney, Joshua Blair and wife, Mikel, Croy Hunsucker, Carson Hunsucker, and Kyleigh Hunsucker; eight great-grandchildren, Jayden, Bowen, Whitley, Blakley, Blaze, Slade, Tage, and Sloane; and a host of extended family members, church family and dear friends.
