Michael Keith Gilley, born January 20, 1953 in Fort Worth, TX, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024 in Lubbock Texas. He was first born son to James Gilley and Nancy Seldon of Azle TX. He was raised in Azle with his three brothers, Terry Gilley, Lee Gilley and Richard Foster and graduated Azle High School in 1971. His adventurous spirit led him to many places and he was always chasing new experiences. From tropical vacation destinations to his next grand career, he was not willing to stop exploring. A Harley Davidson fanatic, he loved the open road. When he wasn’t flying down the open road with the wind whipping, he preferred the peace of an open lake trying for that record breaking fish. Michael was preceded in death by his grandmother, Johnnie Lee Woodard; his father, James; and mother, Nancy. He is survived by his daughters, Leslie Butler, and spouse, Daniel of Lubbock, Jennifer Cobb and spouse, Chris of Fort Worth, and Kelsey Ford and spouse, Zach of Lubbock; Grandfather to Victoria Fisher, Christopher Cobb, Micah Cobb, Peyton Cobb, Rylan Taylor, Avery Taylor, Raegan Butler and Bax Butler, and Great-Grandfather to Haygen, Hennessy, Leeland and Bella. Services to be held at White’s Funeral Home, 105 Denver Trail, Azle on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 10:00 am.
