Michael Rodriguez, 76, loving husband and father, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at his home in Weatherford, surrounded by his family. Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2022 in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave, Weatherford. Graveside Inurnment: 2:15 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2022 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas. Michael was born in Dallas on July 27, 1946 to Joe and Christine Rodriguez. He graduated from Adamson High School in Dallas and received his Master’s Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. In 1966, Michael joined the United States Army. He proudly and honorably served his country for three years, serving one year in Vietnam and earned the rank of Sergeant. Michael met the love of his life, Janis Galen Morgan, and they were married September 18, 1967. They spent 55 happy years together and raised their family in Irving. Following his discharge, Michael worked for the City of Fort Worth planning department, United Cerebral Palsy, and the City of Grand Prairie, along with other non-profits as a social worker. Michael’s hobbies included photography and woodworking. He drove us crazy constantly taking pictures, but we have beautiful memories from them. He built many beautiful furniture pieces over the years that we still use today. Over the years, Michael has touched many lives, and he will be missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents. Michael is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janis, of Weatherford; daughters, Lisa Rodriguez of Austin, and Andrea and her husband, Chris Wiseley, of Bixby, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jack Sessions, Abigail Wiseley, Benjamin Wiseley and Catherine Wiseley; sister, Martha Armstrong; and many other family members and friends.
