Mildred Mary Gaskill

July 18, 1923 — August 12, 2017

Mildred Gaskill, our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and great-grandmother has finished the long years of her earthly pilgrimage. She left this earth with very few worldly goods to her name, but is now enjoying the wealth of her treasures that makes the riches of kings and emperors pale in comparison.  She has traded those flowers she so dearly loved to look at for fellowship with the One who is fairer than meadows robed in the blooming garb of spring. She has exchanged long days lying in a bed for the chance to leap with the lame healed by the Great Physician. In her last years her mind grew ever weaker so that she was often confused about many things except this one thing: she knew her Lord, Jesus Christ, had been good to her and was there to comfort her when she cried out to him.  Her gift to this world may go unnoticed by most, but that gift of a quiet witness to the love and faithfulness of her God is one that has value that far exceeds anything else she could have given. In our quiet moments we grieve the passing of our loved one, but rejoice with her that her race has been run and she now wears the crown of a victor. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, and oldest son, Earl Allen, but leaves behind three children: Ronnie Gaskill, John Gaskill and Mary Moritz.  She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held August 14, 2017 at Memory Gardens of the Valley.
