Minnie Fay Nettleton, a cherished mother, grandmother, and beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 20, 2025, in Texarkana, Texas, at the age of 96. Born on August 29, 1928, in Hamilton, Texas, Fay lived a life rich with love, family, and unforgettable memories.
Fay was the devoted wife of Earl Truman Nettleton, who preceded her in death in 2001. Together, they shared a beautiful life and were married for over 50 years, building a full and rich life together. Fay and Earl found great joy in their shared passions, spending cherished moments fishing at Lake Buchanan and participating actively as members of a local bowling league. Deeply rooted in their faith, they were dedicated members of Western Hills Free Will Baptist Church.
She was a loving mother to her two children, Louis Nettleton and Evelyn Lewis, both of whom survive her. Louis, married to Freda Nettleton, and Evelyn, married to Don Lewis, blessed Fay with a large and vibrant family. Her grandchildren include Sharon and Harold Urban, Jody Lewis, Melissa and David Wagner, Sharma and Ramon Castillo, Marcus and Sarah Nettleton, Marcy and David Long, and Scarlett and Jonathan Fowler. Fay’s heart overflowed with joy for her many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, who brought light to her life.
Fay’s legendary fried pies and decadent chocolate cake were the heart of family gatherings. Her culinary gifts and nurturing spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.
A graveside service to celebrate Fay’s life will be held at Memory Gardens of The Valley Perpetual Care Cemetery, 5600 Mineral Wells Hwy., Weatherford, Texas, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025. The service will be led by her son-in-law Don Lewis, her son, Louis Nettleton, and her grandson, Marcus Nettleton, honoring her enduring love and legacy.
