Morrison Carl Rose, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 20, 2020 in Weatherford at the age of 85. Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2020 in White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford 76086. Interment: Annetta Cemetery. Carl was born in Sayre, Oklahoma on April 11, 1935, son of Morrison Carl Rose, Sr. and Cona W. Rice Rose. He was the eldest of five siblings. Carl spent his younger years in the farm fields of southwestern Oklahoma raising cotton and cattle. He graduated from New Liberty High School in 1952 and furthered his education at Oklahoma State University. Carl is a veteran of the United States Army. After his military service, Carl worked road construction, completing I-40 through Amarillo. He dedicated his next 38 years as a Terminal and Pipeline Manager for Diamond Shamrock. Carl lived a lifetime of hard work. He also enjoyed his children, grandchildren and the numerous family functions throughout his life. His love for travel, adventures and music dominated his latter life with beloved wife, Yvonne. Concerts, and plays at Casa Manana were a must for both. Their travels were plentiful, including trips to Hawaii, Alaska, and Jamaica, with countless cruises and road trips in between. Carl Rose was always ready to go with his Vonnie! He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morrison Carl Rose, Sr. and Cona W. (Rice) Rose; sister, June (Rose) States; former wife, Dorothy L. (McKee) Rose, mother of his children, Darrell and Carleta. Carl is survived by his wife of 11 years, Yvonne O’Brien Rose; his children, Darrell Rose, and Carleta Rose; his step-children, Billy O’Brien and Bobby O’Brien and wife, Melina; his siblings, Jackie (Rose) Howard, Jo Dean (Rose) Massey, and Charles C. “Chuck” Rose, II; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
