Nancy Gayle Taylor

April 27, 1935 - December 3, 2024, Possum Kingdom Lake, Texas

Nancy Gayle Searcy Taylor was born on April 27, 1935, in Fort Worth, Texas to Dale Moore Searcy and Olivia Dundena Vossler Searcy. 

She entered the gates of Heaven and met her savior on December 3rd at 8:10 PM at her home surrounded by family members. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Davy Joe Taylor, her parents, Dale Moore Searcy and Olivia Dundena Searcy, and a grandson, Ryan Keith Garcia.

She is survived by her sister Donah Lee Tucker, her daughter Dayna Dale and husband David Coston, and leaves behind daughters, Monica Deann Logan and Kimberly Joy Miller, and her foster sons, Rusty Garvin and wife Janet, Steve Pruyn and wife Debra, Martin (Marty) and wife Tracy Collins, and many other children she helped raise or thought of as her own. She was loved deeply and was very proud of her 13 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Nancy's loving and caring spirit touched many throughout her life and in her community. 

She grew up in Fort Worth and graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1953. She loved music, dancing, singing, playing bridge, and bowling in those early days. Later she was very competitive when playing shuffleboard which she enjoyed very much. While in Fort Worth, Nancy worked as a dental assistant for many years but spent weekends with her family visiting her favorite place, Possum Kingdom Lake. In 1976 she moved to PK Lake at which time she and her husband Davy Joe bought the Trading Post supermarket. She spent countless hours running the store during her near 30-year tenure. She connected with the community, building bonds with many while helping and loving others. Additionally, she was instrumental in establishing the PK Chamber of Commerce. 

Nancy deeply loved her children, family, extended family, and countless friends. She will be missed by many.
