INola Jean (Smith) Hubbard, 92, passed away on September 12, 2024 in Graham

Graveside Service: 10am Monday September 16, Willow Pond Cemetery, Mineral Wells

Nola Jean was born September 8, 1932 in Lipan; daughter of Morris Elmine Smith and Bertie May (Dunaway) Smith.

Nola Jean, married the love of her life, Jack “Gordon” Hubbard on August 20, 1949. They spent 63 wonderful years together. They lived in Mineral Wells, then moved to El Paso where Nola Jean worked at White Sands Missile Base as a secretary. During this time for a hobby they raised turtles in their back yard. When they both retired they moved back to Mineral Wells for a while before selling their home on Fairview Road and purchasing a Motorhome. They spent the next chapter of their lives together traveling between the Rio Grand Valley, where they spent the winters, and Branson Missouri, where they spent their summers. This continued until Gordon’s untimely death on May 29, 2013. At this time Nola Jean moved back to Mineral Wells where she could be close to family. 

Nola Jean was proceeded in death by her husband, Gordon Hubbard, her father, Morris Elmine Smith, her mother Bertie May Dunaway Smith, a brother, Ledford McHannon Smith, sisters Euna Vay Smith Guinn, and Lillie Oleta Smith Adcox. 

Surviving her are 11 nieces and nephews, and a beloved sister in law, Willie Mae Hubbard.

The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Elison of Graham Assisted Living, and Solaris Hospice, Graham, for their compassionate care for Nola Jean over the recent months.
