Opal Ray Moore Flippin, age 98, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at a hospice facility in Burleson. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday, December 28, 2023 at White's Funeral Home in Weatherford. Service: 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 29, 2023 at White's Chapel of Memories in Weatherford. Interment: Jaybird Cemetery, Springtown. Opal was born September 19, 1925 in Fort Worth to Houston and Nellie Moore. She was raised in Springtown, where she went to school until g 12th grade when she married Frederick Raymond Flippin. They were married in Fort Worth at May Street Baptist Church. Opal was a homemaker, and an expert hat maker. She moved back to Kansas briefly before coming back to Fort Worth and raising her family there. For many years, Opal was a proud member of the First Assembly of God in Weatherford, and afterward at Center Point Church of God (Currently Calvary’s Vision). She loved her family and her church and loved flowers. Opal especially enjoyed her fellowship with the Young Married couples class and called all her students her kids. More than anything, she loved studying her bible and serving the Lord. Over the years, Opal touched many lives, and she will be missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Raymond, 9 brothers and sisters; son Gary Flippin; and grandchildren Rodney, Gayla, and Stacy. Opal is survived by her son, Jim Flippin; and daughter, Pat Holbrooks and husband, Bruce; grandchildren, Cody Holbrooks, Rusty Holbrooks and wife, Ashley, Jamie Hennessey, and Sharon Cramer; and great-grandchild, Reagan Holbrooks.
