Patsy Ruth Gill Beaty, 89, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on June 11, 2020. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Dennis. Interment: Johnson Cemetery, Dennis. Visitation: 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Dennis. She was born on April 15, 1931, to Buford and Munsie Gill, the seventh of eight children. She was born, raised, and lived the majority of her life on the farm that has been in her family over 100 years. In May 1948, she graduated from Dennis High School, in the big class of 4 students where she was the only girl. Then in June she moved to Weatherford, TX, and lived with her sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Merrill Malone. She started working as a waitress at the Derby Café and met the very handsome cook, Bedford Beaty. They married August 29, 1948, after the long courtship of two months, at seventeen and nineteen years of age. Her most rewarding role was caring for their 5 children, gardening, teaching Sunday School, and sewing all the girls’ clothes. She and Bedford enjoyed 58 years together until his passing in 2007. Besides her parents, and husband, Patsy was preceded in death by their daughter, Cathy Louise Newsome, sons-in-law, Greg Deaver and Buddy Newsome, granddaughters, Becky Newsome Langford, Vicky Newsome Danley, and great-granddaughter, Tana Danley, her siblings: Marie Phillips, Ella Mae Murphy, Sherrod Gill, Blake Gill, Faye Malone, and Vaudine Cooper. Left to cherish her memory are three daughters: Linda and Mike Gilley of Springtown; Diane and Norman Tinkler of Brownwood; Vicky and Kent Palmer of Weatherford; one son, Mark and Nancy Beaty of Dennis; eleven grandchildren: Chad and Lacy Gilley, Cory and Veronica Gilley, Chris and Ashley Gilley, Meagan Newsome and Brannon Pate, Jeremy and Ashleigh Alcorn, Joshua and Lainey Alcorn, Nathan Deaver, Brady and Laura Deaver, Riley and Bristyn Deaver, Ross and Sarah Beaty, and Sam Beaty; thirteen great-grandchildren: Caroline and Seth Gilley, Quinn and Ian Gilley, Calan and Cash Gilley, Ella Pate, Bryson, Brody, and Brock Deaver, Falyn and Slayte Deaver, and Landyn Alcorn; one brother, Don Gill of Dennis and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Her prayers in a family circle before meals, which were really “mini-sermons” will be greatly missed. One of her favorite verses that she and her daughter, Linda, talked about many times was Psalm 71:18, as their prayer for their grandchildren, “Now also when I am old and grey headed, O God, forsake me not until I have showed thy strength unto this generation and thy power to everyone that is to come.” The Gill family heritage was her passion as “Aunt Patsy” held court at the annual Thanksgiving reunion for over 125 descendants of her parents, keeping minutes of each gathering with updates, mementos, newspaper clippings, and pictures of the news from the past years. Her desire was always that they would remember the Christian example and legacy of Mama and Papa Gill. Patsy was a longtime member of First Baptist Dennis and the Ladies Power Through Prayer Sunday School class. Even with her failing eyesight, she faithfully called, prayed for, and encouraged the members. The past few months not being able to attend church or Sunday School were especially hard, although, she got a real kick out of seeing Bro. Danny preach on the big screen TV at Mark’s house. She loved her God, her family, her church, her country, and one man. Gran requested any memorials be made to First Baptist Dennis, P.O.
