Richard Olveda Calderon, 71, of Weatherford, passed away in the evening on Saturday, September 12, 2020. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2020 in White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford 76086. Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley, 5600 Mineral Wells Hwy., Weatherford 76088. Visitation: 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday in White’s Chapel of Memories. Richard was born in Amarillo on July 4, 1949 to Marie and Claudio Calderon. He was the owner of Calderon’s Body Shop located at 2421B Fort Worth Hwy. in Weatherford. Richard was an extremely hard worker and dedicated to his business. He loved the outdoors and fishing and hunting, as well as watching old western shows. Richard was a family man for his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed joking around with friends and family while also answering his phone saying “What’sss Up” to those he knew well. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie & Claudio Calderon; brother, Roy; sisters, Beatrice, and Estella. Richard is survived by his children, Jerri Ward (Ronnie Keller), Kim Calderon (Oscar Luna), Richie Calderon, Miguel (Ashley) Calderon; his grandchildren, Ashton, Chris, Veronica, Cheryl, Jacqueline, Julian, Alyssa, Jasmine, Luis, Aiyana, (Little) Richie, Emily, and Noah; his great-grandchildren, Emma and Caden; numerous nephews and nieces. He is also survived by his sisters, Margaret (Peter) Morgan, Carolina Van Sayn-Wittgenstein, Alexander (Carolyn) Calderon, and Josie (Richard) Thurmon; and best friend, Chris Allen. “For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” Jeremiah 29:11
